Sighing in relief as the girl in front of him is called he continues to text Jake back and forth waiting for the bell to ring. Hunching down each time the teachers gaze passes his way he switches to playing video games on his phone drowning out the lesson at hand.
When he looks up and see it's 5 minutes till class lets out he begins bundling up his belongings continuing to ignore the teacher as she speaks making sure he's ready to run out them moment the bell rings.
Walking thru his front door Steve throws his stuff on the floor and calls out to his mom letting her know he's home. Passing by her on her computer she waves to him letting him now it's take out for dinner tonight before she turns back to her on line game of bingo. Racing up the stairs and I into his own room he sits down at his computer logging into his favorite game greeting his friend.
“Hai guys wht r u up 2 tonight?”

The Boarding House

The line in 'The Boarding House' that sums up the message of the entire was the very last line of story. The story begins with the marriage of the girls mother and father that soon turns bad with her father running their business into the ground and going after his wife with a cleaver.
After this she receives a separation from the church allowing her to live separately from her husband.
With the remaining money she had in the family business she opened a boarding house for men mostly artistes and young men. Here the mother despite having had a bad marriage and with the only freedom she had coming after she started from her husband contrives to find a husband for her daughter Polly. Although rather than find her a husband in a more traditional manner she lets her daughter fall into an affair with one of the boarders not doing anything about it until she knows it's gone on too far too leave the man any real choices if he wished to keep his job and reputation.
When we finally meet the young man in the story he is going over and over in his head all the reason why he has to marry the girl and why he doesn't want to. Although he is fond of the girl he knows his family will disapprove and think her beneath him. He also refers to being married as being done for.
The general opinion of most is that it is the men who dread marriage while woman are eager for it. However, in the last few paragraphs of the story we see Polly in a very different light. She is greatly upset by the discovery of the affair and it is not until she begins reminiscing on the secret moments of the affair that she calms down and seems unworried.
And then her mother calls to her and we see the last line " Then she remembered what she had been waiting for", it's as if whenremberingthe free secret moments of the affair she was happy and without a care but as soon as she remembered that now she was to marry this man the worry and panic returned. The theme of this story seems to be that marriage itself is a trap not just for the man trapped by a conniving mother in law but for the woman as well.
